Hello! My name is Wendy Gustin and I have been the Library Media Specialist at Costello Elementary since the 1996-97 school year. Prior to coming to Costello I taught second and third grades for the Mt. Pleasant School District. I earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Michigan State University (Go Spartans!) and a M.A. in School Library Media at Central Michigan University.
I have been married to my husband Bob since 1997. We have one son and two daughters. My favorite books as a child were Charlotte’s Web, Ramona the Pest, The Boxcar Children and The Little House series. In more recent children’s literature, I get a big kick of Mo Willems and his kooky Pigeon books!
I strive to instill a love of reading in our students and to encourage them to read for pleasure as well as for information. I am also passionate about making sure that my students have the skills necessary to be safe, responsible and respectful digital citizens. Costello Elementary students are enthusiastic, intelligent and loads of fun! I am thankful to be a part of the Costello family!
