I began teaching here at Costello in November, 2010, as a long-term second grade guest teacher for Mrs. Dutcheshen. In the fall of 2011, I was officially hired as a teacher. I taught 4th grade one year and this will be my 5th year teaching. I feel very fortunate to be part of an amazing team of educators and families here at Costello!
Before I came to Costello, I worked at my dad’s engineering company for 11 years as a secretary, detailer, accountant, human resources…I did a lot, and I liked it! But I really loved teaching so I switched my career goals and began to study Elementary Education! In 2009, I completed my student teaching in second grade at Wass Elementary. I am a proud Troy and Oakland Schools student!! I went to Hill Elementary School, Larson Middle School, and Athens High School! Go Red Hawks!! After high school I attended Oakland Community College for my core classes and then I went on to earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a major in Language Arts at Oakland University. In December 2015, I earned my Master Degree in Early Childhood Education from Oakland University. In my free time I: enjoy listening to country music, reading outside, visiting my family, visiting my parents’ dogs (I consider them my little brothers), shopping, mountain biking on trails, camping all over Michigan, swimming in Lake St. Clair, hanging out with my friends, playing softball, watching Lions football, watching the Red Wings, and going to Tiger’s games!
