My name is Mrs. Julie Marjamaa and I am one of the kindergarten teachers here at Costello!
I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Human Resource Development/Early Childhood along with my ZA in Early Childhood from Oakland University. I also received my Masters in Reading and Language Arts from Oakland.
I was hired in Troy as a kindergarten teacher and I still love being a teacher of young children. I’ve worn many kindergarten hats: I have worked as a half-time kindergarten teacher (a.m. only), a full time kindergarten teacher (teaching both a.m. & p.m.), a developmental kindergarten teacher, a KinderPlus teacher and now I am a full time kindergarten teacher and loving every minute of it!
I live in Troy with my husband and three daughters….Alexandria, Courtney & Elizabeth. All three girls graduated from Athens High. The oldest earned her degree from Western Michigan. The younger two are currently in college. In all my spare time I enjoy reading, having family dinners, working on the computer, finding new ideas for my classroom, spending time with my family, parents, siblings and playing games with them. A few years ago I taught myself American Sign Language (ASL) and I will introduce your child to ASL during the school year.
I am looking forward to an exciting year and being your child’s teacher!
